Many people were saddened by his absence from New Horizons, but now, due to a new update, you may finally obtain the right quantity of pigeons and coffee in your life. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, here’s how to convince Brewster to join you on your island.
The Roost, Brewster’s café, was introduced to the game as part of the 2.0 update, which was released yesterday night (two days early!). The Roost will emerge on the second level of the Museum, just across from the art gallery entrance, with Brewster inside, ready to serve you some excellent coffee. If you’ve just recently purchased the game or haven’t played it in a while, you may not have all of the necessary conditions to play The Roost.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, here’s how to convince Brewster to join you on your island:
- Increase your island’s star rating to three.
- The art gallery is now open.
- At least one of each kind of artifact should be donated to the museum.
- Brewster may be seen on Kapp’n’s island excursions.
- Wait a few days for the Museum to reopen.
To begin, your Island must have a rating of at least 3 stars. You should be good in that department if you’ve already completed the game’s main goal and gotten KK Slider to perform, but if not, you can improve your Island’s rating by removing weeds, planting flowers, increasing the number of villagers on your Island, and putting up decorations and installations. Basically, make the island more attractive.
Second, the Museum’s art gallery must be completed. To do this, you must first convince Redd to visit your island so that you may purchase artwork from him to contribute to Blathers. You must have given at least 60 distinct things to Blathers in order to do so.
Finally, you must have given at least one of each object category to each of the Museum’s wings. One insect, one fish, one fossil, and one work of art, to be exact. Fortunately, you’ll be far over that point by the time Redd arrives.
Exit the Museum and return after all of the conditions have been met to initiate a conversation with Blathers. Blathers wants to build a café at the Museum, therefore he’ll urge you to go find Brewster. Brewster is a big fan of Gyroids, therefore he’ll urge you to consult Kapp’n (who has also been introduced to the game from version 2.0).
Go to the seaside and pay 1,000 Nook Miles for an Island Tour with Kapp’n. On the island Kapp’n sends you to, you should be able to see Brewster wandering about, so be sure to inform him about Blathers’ plan before you go.
When you go home, inform Blathers that you talked with Brewster. He’ll inform you that the Museum will be closed for a few days while the café is being installed, and that you may return the day after tomorrow. There will be an opening ceremony for The Roost in two days (or time travel). After you’ve finished, take a stroll up the Museum’s stairwell for a hot beverage and some good talk.
