PlayStation today announced the addition of a new member to its fast expanding family of first-party studios. Bluepoint Games, best known for its remakes and remasters of highly praised classics like Shadow of the Colossus and Naughty Dog’s Uncharted games, is the newest developer to join PlayStation Studios. Demon’s Souls, a remake of FromSoftware’s 2009 original with fully revamped visuals, was developed by Bluepoint, which was also responsible for the PS5 launch game.

Marco Thrush, president of Bluepoint Games, sent the following letter:

We’re thrilled to be a part of PlayStation Studios!

Since our inception in 2006, Bluepoint has called Austin, Texas home, and we’ve grown to a staff of over 70 super-talented creatives and counting. While the studio has expanded significantly over the last 15 years, our core values have stayed the same: to constantly push the boundaries and produce the highest-quality games possible while having fun. Our success has been largely due to our emphasis on culture, and we’re pleased that PlayStation Studios has a similar culture and goal.

PlayStation has such a legendary gaming library, and we couldn’t think of a better way to introduce new gamers to some of gaming’s greatest works. As a member of PlayStation Studios, our team will be able to push the quality standard even higher and provide even more memorable experiences to the PlayStation community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years; we can’t wait to offer you even more incredible games in the next chapter of Bluepoint Games!

While Thrush has been tight-lipped about what Bluepoint Games is working on, speculations have persisted that the company is working on a version of Hideo Kojima’s iconic tactical espionage action game, Metal Gear Solid. According to certain reports, Bluepoint is working on remakes of several Metal Gear titles.
