Gems are a kind of item in New World that can be socketed into weapons and armor to provide your character additional benefits. Damage absorption, extra damage, damage conversions, and threat modifiers are all needed to safely proceed through the endgame of New World. This article examines the whole list of New World Gems as well as all of its impacts on armor and weaponry.
For a full description of what each New World Gem accomplishes for armor and weaponry, see the New World Gems list below. There are four distinct rarities of gems:
- a flaw (Tier II)
- Typical (Tier III)
- Exceptional (Tier IV)
- Immaculate (Tier V)
Each level of rarity raises the stats by a percentage, making each gem more powerful. You may utilize cheaper gems of the flawed or regular type when leveling up, but as you get closer to the endgame, Brilliant and Pristine cut gems become much more in demand.
If you’re wondering about how the percent damage conversion works, check out our New World Gem scaling tutorial. We go through the conversion in depth and give several examples to assist demonstrate it.
